unfortunately, i must agree with opinion that apple hostel is dirty place. i couldn´t go to showers, it looked really bad though i´m used to spartian conditions. stuff is friendly but not helpful, if you have some troubles with your luggage, like one guy in our room. in the night it was difficult to get to sleep, room was full of strong light of the street, there were no curtains or something. no more apple hostel

Just got back from the Apple Hostel today and I must say what a great place to stay it is! Read a few reviews before going which said the hostel had unfriendly staff, dirty rooms and a list of many other problems but I experienced none! The hostel is in a perfect location as it is situated on the north side of Prague and is a 2 min (literally!) walk to the centre of the city for the sights etc. Old Town Square is a street away and there are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and the Charles Bridge is about 5mins walk which is a must see (also look out for the Bridge Band as they are superb). The staff at the hostel were extremely helpful (went and found a bottle opener at 12.30ish at night!) and the place seemed secure and safe. The rooms were large with bunk beds and had enough storage for clothing etc. The breakfast was ok - mainly cereal, bread but we found the large underground supermarket over the road great as it sold everything we wanted. All in all the Apple Hostel is the place to go! The great location and the basic, clean and down-to-earth style of the place made it a great place to stay.

I'd have to disagree here. Sure, it was pretty skanky - especially the toilets. But dirt cheap, and if you don't spend long in there, it's acceptable. I didn't have a problem with the staff - Czech people just come across as cold, but they're not really.

I completely agree with everything written by Ruth- Apple Hostel is by far the worst hostel I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. The rooms and the bathroom were extremely dirty, friends of mine had bags stolen from their rooms and the staff were not in the least bit helpful (or even pleasant).

Having travelled extensively and stayed in many hostels, I can safely say, this is the worst I have experienced. It was filthy, there was a used condom in our room, empty beer cans, stains on the walls. Plus our room was broken into. There was no one on reception, cctv didn't work. Out of the 5 people in my room, 4 people had there bags stolen. Staff at the hostel couldn't care less, they were not helpfull in the slightest. Absolutely appauling!
