Ive stayed in hostels from Prague to Guatemala, and this one has got to be the best. Ive met people with whom I will keep in contact back home, and I had an awesome time going out in Rio. The staff are very helpful; they know Rio´s best nightlife, and they want you to have a good time. They will bend over backwards to help you. I planned on staying just a few days, but I´ve been here a week. The only knock I have is a bit of construction noise going on as the expand the hostel on the above floor to make more room for travelers like us. Cameron Jahn, Sacramento, California, U.S.A. If you want to see Rio from the point of view of the cariocas, this is the way to go. Botafogo is centrally located. Getting to places is easy since the Metro is litteraly next door. The staff is fantastic. Mo is the best. The place is safe. Lots to do around the area. In a way the location is a bit better than Ipanema, as it is cheaper to eat since Botafogo does not have a lot of tourists. There is a gym next door and miles of running tracks right along the ocean. I recommend going to Vermehla beach and run the trail around sugarloaf. If you run in the other direction you will go Flamenco park and beach, will miles and miles of track, all with ocean view.
