Baan Rim Nam Guest House, Ko Si Chang - Reviews & Contact Details
Same comments as Steve!. Stayed in mid August 05. A friendly place with friendly owners, their website is the best on Koh Chang, and a cute Golden. We stayed a couple of extra nights, had a great seafood meal on the river and generally kicked back. Pity we had to leave and head back to the reality of our day jobs.
My g/f and I stayed here in April 05. great, quiet out of the way location. Just kicked back, played with the dog, swam in the river and sea. Nights were spent at the beach bar - food was out of this world. Better than any restaurant. we hired a bike as the place is about amile walk from the main road. However, this means that you can stay here for a week and not see another tourist. Only meet a few locals. Who says Koh chang is over developed and 'touristy', head here to escape.
‘Baan Rim Nam’ (House on the water) is a renovated fisherman’s house built on the mangrove clad shoreline of Klong Prao river estuary. Only 100 metres from Klong Prao beach – the longest beach on the west coast of the island. It is run by a Thai/English couple and their Golden Retriever.
Accommodation
We have three air-conditioned ensuite rooms in the house. Groups (or honeymoon couples) can rent the entire house to ensure privacy and seclusion during their stay.
Restaurant
As we’re only a small place we don’t have a restaurant. However, food can be cooked to order in our kitchen and many of our guests love to buy fresh seafood from the local market which we can BBQ on our deck over the river. If you want to learn how to cook Thai food, you buy the ingredients and we’ll teach you the basics for free.
Location
As we’re in the centre of the west coast of the island getting around is relatively easy. Motorbikes can be hired nearby and there is a regular shared taxi service operating on the main road – approx 15 minutes walk away. This area is away from the crowds and so isn’t a party zone. There are no bars or huts within earshot . . . only local families who earn a living fishing or running boat services. However, there are a couple of good beach bars a few minutes walk away which are great places for grabbing a cold beer whilst watching the sun go down.
