Guys, I was amazed by the standard at the flamingo. The Girls at the reception very attractive were very helpfull. The service was amazing. The location is the best, Szewska which i was unaware is the very centre of Kraków and the heart of Krakow nightlife. I give ******* stars to the flamingo, I will be back soon with a larger group ;-)
Flamingo Hostel is most likely the best hostel in Krakow. It definately has the best location, the most comfortable and enjoyable common room, the cleanest most well-equipped kitchen, the brightest nicest rooms, and the most modern bathroom - with the hottest and best showers. Add to that free internet, free breakfast, free tea and coffee all day, free linen and towels, and a laundry service, and you may be starting to see why there's a decent chance of us being at least on the podium.
Unfortunately none of our staff speak Korean, Norwegian, Georgian or actually quite a few other languages. But English, Polish, French, German, Spanish, Russian - we'll give them a good shot. And our staff really are very knowledgable about what's on and what's off in Krakow. If you want a walking talking bar guide for the night just let us know and we'll see what we can rustle up...
If you can't find something to your taste among the 400 or so pubs and clubs within spitting distance from our doors, you can easily occupy yourself inour common room. We have a lot of games - and not just cards and chess - and heaps of books and magazines. We also have hundreds of different satellite tv stations from round the world - Eurosport, BBC, CNN, etc. As well as dvds. Otherwise you can just sit in one of our super comfy sofas and stare at the flamingos, or sit at the window and watch the world pass by on Szewska Street below.
We should tell you, Szewska Street really is one of the most exciting streets in Krakow. Only a few hundred metres long, but it has at least 5 or 6 clubs, lots and lots more nice bars and restaurants. It joins onto the Main Square - Flamingo Hostel is approximately 42 metres from this square, which has gotta be one of the biggest, liveliest, most enthralling squares in Europe. It is in the centre of the Old Town, which plays host to countless bars, clubs and restaurants as already mentioned, as well as most of the cities best museums, churches, galleries, theatres, shops, basilicas, and everything else that takes your fancy. (And the cities best hostel.) It really is a specail place and we want to make sure you get to see the best of it while you're here.
We have free maps and other information, and can arrange tours to Auschwitz or Salt Mine, as well as bike tours of Krakow or communism tours. We also have free lockers in every room, a safe at reception, no curfew, no lockout, no early-checkout, luggage storage, a public phone, cold drinks, blah blah blah. Just come and see for yourself!
