The Hostel Village is an affordable hostel like hotel in downtown Yokohama. We just started doing business.
Kotobuki is a Japanese word that means ‘celebration’. Kotobuki-cho is a small area in the middle of Yokohama, located near all of the popular tourist spots.
3,000 Yen (3.8 tatami mat-sized Japanese style room with futon bed. Approximately 28 US dollars per night).
2,250 Yen(If you stay a room(3.8tatami mat)with your friend.)

My room was great and the staff were extremely helpful and nice. The location was within walking distance of the station so it was easy to get to anywhere in Yokohama or Tokyo. I definitely recommend using Yokohama Hostel Village to anyone travelling to the Yokohama or Tokyo area.

Yokohama Hostel Village is really one of a kind. The hostel is located in a quiet, very Japanese environment of Kotobuki, and is also in a perfect location to visit Yokohama’s sights by foot. The rooms are clean and are a great deal for only 3000 yen because theres also tvs and veranadas for each room. Also, the staff are really helpful and friendly (one staff member met me near the train station when I got lost on arrival). A welcome change from the boring YH hostels and I definitely will come back here again soon!

The place is reasonable I would suggest, but the rooms are little more than the size of what I expect a jail cell to be and there is no difference between a 1 and 2 person room, except for the fact that 2 people have to cram into the same cell. In terms of value for money, I believe this hostel offers very little - it is priced the same as every other hostel that I stayed at, had terribly small rooms, no real common area, a 5 storey flight of stairs to navigate and was located in an area that, while close to the train station, can only be described as a charming ghetto.
