Casa Spinelli, Florence - Reviews & Contact Details
good place by kell47
was there for a week in july, pleasantly surprised. it was a good place for a good price. the 4 of us were more than comfortable.
I stayed here with my daughter. It was very charming, I loved the neighborhood, it's right next to Piazza Santa Spirito. We really didn't use the kitchen, except to make tea in the morning. We were surprised that they had a normal american shower/bath so that you don't have to hold the shower head, it is hung on the wall like in american bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean.
The only negative was that the downstairs was a little humid but they do provide a dehumidifier so we ran it every day and during one of the nights when it rained.
I will definitely stay here again, it is such a good deal because you pay in US dollars and it was very affordable.
I took my family to Italy a few weeks ago, we were having a hard time finding affordable accomodations for my family of 4. In the US, you can easily find an Econo lodge or Holiday inn with 2 double beds for around $60 depending on where you are. But in Europe rooms like this are hard to find, and when you find them, they are well over 200 euros per night! So a friend of mine told me to look into renting an apartment. I never would have thought about doing this, but there are many Italians offering furnished apartments for a 3 to 4 night minimum for a lot less than hotels. While searching the internet I came across this apartment for Florence, and I'm happy I did. We only booked for 4 nights originally, but we were having such a good time in Florence that we wanted to stay longer so I called the owner (who lives in the US) and he let us stay for another 3 nights at a discounted rate! Casa Spinelli was a perfect apartment for our family, all of the furniture was brand new, the beds were very comfortable, everything was clean. We saved a lot of money on food by using the kitchen. The only negative I would say is that the apartment is a little damp, but I'm sure that it is because the entire apartment is made of stone from centuries ago. This also made it very cool so there was no need to use an air conditioner. Overall we were very pleased and would definitely recommend Casa Spinelli to anyone else thinking of visiting Florence.
