ILLIKKALAM LAKE RESORT, is situated on the bank of Vembanad Lake at Kumarakom, The Resort is situated in the best location of Kumarakom to view the lake and relax.
This is owned and Managed by Mr Salim Das and Mrs Susan Salim, natives of Kumarakom and started the Resort in 1995 as the first Resort of Kumarakom,of a Family. Therefore they can always provide personal care and attention to all the guests,and the guests can always contact them, when ever the guests need any further care, assistance or information. This is the only one affordable Resort on the bank of Vembanad Lake at Kumarakom, and it is very beautiful, enjoyable and relaxing, as the maximum breadth and length of the Vembanad Lake and the Sun Set is visible from here. This Lake is the largest fresh water lake, in South Asia, You can get into the House Boats, Motor Boats, speed Boats and the Country boats from the Resort. Two Acres of land (Around one hectare) of the Resort includes the Office, Car Parking area, Cottages, Restaurant, other service areas, Recreation facilities, Greeneries,
Fruit Trees and Ayurvedic plants, walkers Path and Tens of Thousands of Hectares of land of the largest lake situated in front of the Resort, which is on the western side of the Resort.
Cottages of Illikkalam Lake Resort
All Cottages are situated on the lake side and also facing the Lake, Each Cottage is having a bedroom, attached bathroom with hot and cold water, Porch (Sit-Out) to experience the lake and also having private premises up to the Lake, You can have the fishing, from the premises in front of your Cottage, just on the bank of the Lake, the beautiful Sun Set can be experienced from the Cottages and you can Relax in the Hammocks under the shades of the trees, in front of your Cottages. You can enjoy the beautiful waves and breeze of the lake, through out the day and night. We also serve the Food and Beverages in front of the Cottage on the Bank of the lake. There are 8 A/C cottages and the same can be provided as non A/C cottages also out of which, 5 cottages are family cottages with 2 bedrooms
Beautiful Sight Seeing From Cottages
You don’t have to travel anywhere else for enjoying the sight seeing, at Kumarakom,if you are staying at Illikkalam Lake Resort, as The beautiful Sun Set can be experienced from the Cottages, drifting of the House Boats, Motor Boats, Speed Boats, Fishermen’s Boat etc. are unique sceneries, from the Cottages, through out the day. You can enjoy the Monsoon Season over here, the lake and the clouds will be more beautiful, during the monsoon and experiencing the rain will be an excellent and unique enjoyment from here as you can see rain is coming from the far off.
Relaxing in the Hammock under the shades of the trees, enjoy the breezy air, the beautiful waves of the lake, fishing of the famous Pearl spot fish (Karimeen) are unique sceneries from the Cottages.

You can enjoy the breeze and the waves of the lake, the beauty of the fireworks on the other side of the lake (Alappuzha), relax on the hammocks in the breezy, Cool, calm and quiet atmosphere in the night on the bank of the lake, especially on a full Moon night are the unique experiences, enjoyments comforts and Pleasure of the lake side cottages of ILLIKKALAM LAKE RESORT.
Facilities in the Resort
A/C and Non A/C Cottages and Family Cottages, Channel TV, Hot and Cold water, each Cottage is having a Sit Out to relax and experience the Sun Set, Private and independent premises with lake front for each Cottage, Lake View Restaurant, Food and Beverages can also be served in front of the lake, Internet Facility, Angling facility, Walkers Path among the Fruits Trees in two acres of land, Library, Camp fire, barbeque, Recreations like, playing cards, Game of Chess, Carom Board, Shuttle badminton etc., Laundry, Doctor on call, Travel Desk, Sight Seeing arrangements. Facilities for Conference, Family Get Together, Marriage Reception, and other programmes can also be arranged at the Lake Side on request.
Over and above we guarantee personal care and attention, Clean Cottages and its premises and fresh and tasty food, through out your stay.
Other Services from the Resort
Pick up and Drop etc.Auto hire, Car hire, Bicycle hire, Motor Cycle hire, cycling into the interiors of Kumarakom village to know more about the People, Temples, Churches, Canals, Agriculture University and also to the Birds Sanctuary at Kumarakom. Sun Set cruising and the Canal and the Backwater day cruising in Houseboat, Motor Boat or in the Country boat and the exciting and the thrilling experience in a 40 H.P.Speed Boat is also available from the Resort. Ayurvedic Whole Body Massaging, Treatment, Kerala Art and Cultural Programmes, Yoga class etc., can be arranged on request.
