Huelmo is a starting point to visit the Lake District, to go to Chiloé Island or where just chill out before embarking to Patagonia. It is a scenic place for relaxing, trekking, rowing across the bay or even snorkeling in this calm waters...Wherever you go, you will admire the native flora surrounding and the great variety of birds.
Staying in Huelmo is a rural and intercultural experience, you can meet the locals…and you can participate in daily life: learning how to fish salmons, picking up berries from the forest, or just making the bread together, or cutting firewood, for example...
But if you look for restaurants, tv, internet or souvenir shops, you will not find them here, because Huelmo is not a tourist-like destination.
We are accessible by bus from Puerto Montt´s Terminal. It takes about 45 minutes.
