So the website sounded promising and the prices were good, so we booked the double room. We had the map from the website but it took us over an hour to find the Riad and then we were presented with two beds in a 5 bed dorm when we had booked the double room. They said, sorry the double is gone. The website also promised a cooked breakfast and we got the standard bread, jam and cheese back at the Riad. The shared bathroom was also pretty gross. We found a new place for the next night... On the bright side, Marrakech is pretty amazing....

I just hope you read this so you don’t destroy your first nights by going to this hostel like I did. The first thing I noticed besides the creepy guy who where guarding the hostel was that the whole hostel and all the rooms was STRONGLY stinking like shit! The second is that all this creepy English speaking personnel could say in English was that this not hotel it 10 euro when I asked why I got a bed in a five bed room instead of a two bed room as I booked. The toilets where holes in the floor and directly next to the hole there was another one, which was the shower. There is no warm water just ice cold, so no warm showers. I was forced to stay there my first nights because I was not sure where to find another hotel or hostel suitable for a student’s purse. The minarets speaker was under my window so 3 in the morning when they where praying to Allah I thought my eardrums where going to explode I had to turn on the light to discover that the room was FULL of cockroaches under the pillow next to the bed on the walls, they even crawled into my backpack. Also no internet, no cooked breakfast just dry bread with butter, the lowest quality beds and most uncomfortable I have ever seen, no hot showers, the rooftop terrace was overlooking nothing. No mirrors, no kitchen not even a place where you can shave. So this: *Breakfast included in the rate (cooked breakfast from 010407) *Hotel quality at hostel prices! *Newly decorated! *Newly furnished! *2 kitchens for your own use *Dedicated english speaking staff *Tour and excursion organisers *Bathrooms, no extra charge for showers. *Hot water. * 2 Rooftop terraces overlooking the Medina with views of the Atlas mountains. *Free internet! Is just a myth like the flying carpet. And nobody could speak English just the one (I think the boss) who where writing this things on his laptop. I had to pay all my bookings at one time like 130 euros next day I wanted my money back because nothing was like we agreed I was given back 45 euros. There are plenty of hotels with private rooms for 6 euros per night that are great (in comparison) near the centre just look around and you can’t book them on the internet but I’m sure you will find a free room! I have warned you and if you have any questions please email me at hungaricum@hotmail.com I feel just ashamed to telling this because no one with a normal mind would stay 3 nights at this toilet scented place like I did. But at my defence is that it was my first time in this city and I could not and had no energy to find another place in these first days. David.
