I have to totally agree with this review... Me and two other guests arrived tonight at this hostel about 11pm and, really tired after a 10 hours drive and in need of some good sleep, only to find that the hotel staff along with a few other guests were completely drunk and making loads of noise up until 3:00am... Also, there were people inside the hostel, running in the corridors with the fire hose of the premises (?!?!?!) ... A complete anarchy!!! Regarding the rooms, the scenario wasn't better: Dirty premises, rubbish bins not emptied... A nightmare, in the true sense of the word! Having travelled throughout the world and always staying on backpackers / hostels, I can honestly say this was my worst hosteling experience EVER! I would rate this hostel as VERY BAD or TERRIBLE, if these options were availbale! Not recommended to anyone, by any means! I'm filling a complaint first thing in the morning, near the USA Hostels managing / administration. Also, I planned to stay (and booked) for 3 nights… If a similar situation happens again, I'm reporting it to the local authorities, without any hesitation!

I worked in usa hostels for 4 months, and I really know that WE DO EVERYDAY clean our sheets, beeing clean is a commitment to us.... I'm really disapointed that you had dirty sheets, it never happenned to me, and I really have no Idea how it happenned! This summer, we had an insect problem, due to the numbers of travellers who bring with them tehir sleeping bag even if we tell them to bring it to the reception for their stay. But we took care of it really fast and paid a guy to have no more problem with it, everything is really fine now!!! For me, USA hostels is THE BEST PLACE to be in San Diego, we hope everyone loved to be with us in the Gaslamp Quater. We really care about our backpackers and them to have fun!

Sheets were dirty, Great location,but very noisy. The hostel and especially the kitchen has got a big insect problem.That you can not enjoy your morning breakfast or can’t drink your free tea or coffee. So I totally don’t recommend this hostel! It is the worst hostel experience that I had.
