Rumble in the Jungle - Papua New Guinea

| You want to try something I did in the dense tropical jungle of Papua New Guinea? The idea is to get from point A to point B, covering the least distance; you try to keep the sun on the same side, in front, or directly behind you. Point A is a small campsite, lying in a small clearing in the jungle; point B is also a small clearing somewhere in front of you – you hope.
Stepping cautiously into the jungle proper, you realise you’re not alone; was that something dropping down the back of my shirt? Yes, a huge stag beetle; off with the shirt before it could get its big nippers into me. With the supreme art of a contortionist, I grabbed it by its head and yanked it clear; I could swear I saw a look of disappointment and failure in its eyes.
Ah well, carry on, step over that line of giant soldier ants, mind that leech which is eyeing me up, oh, and what’s that over there in front of me? Just a cobra looking my way; with a deft turn to my left, I managed to by-pass the serpent and continue onwards through this sweating jungle.
And yes, I did reach point B.
