Vacationing in Heaven - Mexico

With no traveling schedule, hotel reservations or a specific destination, my partner and myself decided to head out into a vacation that would end up taking us to a paradise filled with nature,stories from the past, adventure and peace. We decided to rent a a white jeep that without us knowing would serve us as the stallion that would transport us through this journey to the past and flamboyant culture that can only belong to the people of Mexico. Arriving at Cancun Airport was itself an easy task, deciding where to go from there was the difficult part. There were so many places to go to, so many different roads to travel through that our brains stormed for a while before deciding that we would simply head towards the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. We knew it was going to take us a good six hours of driving before we got there, but since we had almost three weeks to explore, we figured that six hours was nothing. Before departing the airport we knew we would be staying at the Mayaland resort of Chichen, a beautiful hotel that is located within the ruins themselves, this alone already made this place extremely appealing to us, specially since we are obssessed with pyramids and the mayan culture. After driving for six hours without a radio, without a map and only with the directions we wrote down at the car rental place, we actually got there without any problem at all! At arrival, we could sense an air of mysticism that I have only experienced in Mexico, a country that is truly filled with magic.
