Take Care & Beware Mushroom Shakes in Thailand - Thailand

| After a recent trip to Thailand, we wanted to share this information with you.
We were told by a lovely thai guide that some of the mushroom shakes in thailand are not made using magic mushrooms. What some bars are doing is crushing up mosquito coils and putting them in the shakes, at 1 baat a piece they are literally making a killing. Sadly , this is said in the literal sense. One of his friends sadly died from drinking mushroom shakes.
Also, anyone going to the Full Moon Parties, please take care of yourself, as there are no ambulances or paramedics there to help if anything goes wrong. On May 1st 2007 we witnessed a man die, members of the public tried to resuscitate him for 30 mins, but failed. We are not sure why he died but his feet were still being touched by the waves when their efforts failed, which makes us think he drowned. Later on the boat back to Koh Samui someone was being stretchered away, we enquired the next day with the islanders and we were informed 5 people died at this Full Moon Party. |
