White Karen Hilltribe and Lampoon - The Karen hilltribe people are of Tibeto-Burman racial stock, peace-loving, good warrior, very industrious, and faithful. They consist of several distinct groups - White Karen, Black Karen, Red Karen, Pwo Karen, and tend to live in lowland valleys and practice crop rotation rather than shifting slash-and-burn cultivation.
On this tour a visit is made to a traditional White Karen hilltribe village for an insight into their still primitive lifestyle. On the return to Chiang Mai stops are made at Wat Phra That Haripunchai and wat Chamadevi.
