Planning help - Visa


Apply for visas well in advance, most visa applications take a long time to be approved and processed. Most visa applications will require you to take a personal interview with a valid passport.

Visas must be applied for in your own country of residence and not at the time of arrival in the country you wish to visit.

Visa application forms can be obtained from the relevant embassy or consulate nearest to you. Ask for the information of what is required to accompany your application at the embassy or consulate. You may also access the internet to obtain this information.

General requirements at most embassies are:

  • Visitors or non-immigrant Visa application forms

  • Current valid passport or travel document which must be valid for the duration of your visit in the country.

  • 2 passport type photographs
     
  • Application Fee and in some cases an issuance fee.
     
  • Evidence of funds to cover expenses while in that country.
     
  • Health or Medical Insurance.
     
  • Travel Insurance

  • General requirements at most embassies are:

  • Visa operations and status of your visa application
     
  • How to pay fees
     
  • How to get an appointment for an interview.
     
  • Enquire about Border Crossing Cards in the U.S.A.

    Remember that Visa applications often take 30 days or more to be approved and processed. Keep in touch with your embassy or consulate on the status of your application.
