FYI... Chang is now available in the USA !!! I found the export version at Whole Foods in Seattle. I have been looking for this beer in the states for years!! The only drawback is that the alcohol is only 5% by volume.. as opposed to 6.4% in Thailand.

The cheapest beer in thailand is thia archer which is 24 bhat per bottle big bottle and its made by the singha company, chang is the strongest beer in thai and its cheap as it has to compete with singha which own most of the beers in thailand, yes is strong shit but is as good as the rest in moderation. yes it wil give you a headache as its ave 6.4% compared with all the other thai beers with 5% ave. so do the maths and you will find its not quantity but quality and just dring 4 bottles of chang not six like you do with singha! or you will have on bastarDD of a hangover

Yes it is 6.4% alcohol or more. Take 3 bottles and go to bed.

BEER CHANG THE ONLY BEER TO DRINK IN THAILAND. ADD ICE ONLY IF THE BEER IS WARM. IF NOT BOTTOMS UP.

The fact it has alcohol in it is the only reason why it doesnt score a big fat zero.Drink it if you enjoy stomach cramps and a thumping headache the next day. Stick to Singha which is simply fantastic.

So good I named my dog after it.

Beer Chang is dangerous stuff...there is a reason it is so cheap! The brewing process makes it inconsistent, so one day you can drink 7 and the next day only 3.....you never know. It causes a lot of motorcycle wrecks here because people go by the number they have had rather than how they actually feel. Beware of the elephant! :)

its great it is ment to be 6.5 but because the brewing process is not very good it can be up to 11.5

I love chang, better I think than Singha Beer. Its has more flavour and never drink anything else when larging it in thailand!

not bad but why drink Chang when Singha tastes so much better?

Well i had my first chang at this thai restaurant in New Zealand, my dads friend recomended it to me. so i said why not it is a very smooth beer and it will be the new beer on my list.. i wonder when i will feel the changover you people talk about. still gotta find who supplys it and how much it is.

Just got back from Thailand, this was by far my favorite beer there. Better than Leo, Singha, or Tiger, full of flavor, went down smooth, a bit stronger than the rest but it cannot be detected in the taste, just the after-effects.

Rotten stuff. I'd rather drink petrol. Or my own piss.

i give myself a 10.... sure chang isnt the best beer in the world... its pretty good, but with the price being consistantly cheaper than any other in thailand.. why would you spend more money if your going to get hammered anyways ? unless your NOT a backpacker and have countless Bahts to toss around.. you might as well buy a wooden frog from one of those street ladys...

As an American, ice in my beer was strange at first, but as you come to realize, in Thailand, when the temperature is so hot outside and you eat outside most of the time, it is tough to keep beer or any drink cold, so after about 2 days of my 5 weeks there, this was natural. I really loved this beer and thought it was better than Singha. I wish I could find it here in the USA!

Changs were awesome! I heard there were no consistancies in there brewing so you could end up with a more 'potent' bottle or glass. Nothing like buying 3 big bottle at Seven11 for NZ $5 and getting hammered. When I arrived back in NZ a 6 pack of 330mL were NZ $17.99!

10/10 in Thailand 2/10 outisde. Chang does not travel at all well but in Thailand it is the best beer by far and that includes all the western brand brewed here under licence. It takea a couple of sessions to get used to the hangover effect but once you've adjusted toi that you're away.

Chang is ok if it's very cold. Don't drink too much or you will get a nasty hangover. It is especially bad when drunk alongside foods that contain MSG. However, there is a better beer and that is the new Chang Light. At 4.5% it's not really a light beer, especially for the yanks! It is very smooth, unlike Chang regular. It also has the full and exotic flavour of Chang. It's a little more expensive, (same price as Singh) as it's being marketed as a premium beer. With or without ice? Who cares!

Just spent 2 weeks in Thailand, and while my wife drank Singha, I drank Chang exclusively - love the stuff. Cheaper, too, and more to my tastes than Leo and Tiger. Ice in beer? No need for it if you drink it in a timely fashion, and why "ruin" a good beer? Uneven from batch-to-batch? Not that I noticed, but then I sampled the stuff during a 2-week "window." 6.4%? It sure felt that way. Haven't tried to find it here in New Jersey, but my hopes aren't too high for success there.

Chang, Chang, Chang! How we miss it! Have hunted down back in the UK but limited success, may have to change from a red to a blue (be disowned from family!) just to get our Chang fix at the ground! Would appreciate any updates on Chang findings, especially in the Liverpool area! Happy drinking Chang Lovers!!!

WHO THE HELL PUTS ICE IN THERE BEER ! ! ! Its strong thats the point, if you want a weak beer, drink something else! I found Chang a little bitter at first but it soon became the beer of choice followed closely by a good cold Tiger

Good beer, right price when in Thailand. If you don't want ice in the beer try putting the ice in a small plastic bag and then put that in the pitcher with the beer. Keeps the beer cool, but does not water it down. I learned this tip from the Hooters in Honolulu.

I cringe when I think of Chang and the dreaded 'Changover'. *shudder* And when I first got to Thailand I thought ice in beer was about the stupidest thing I ever heard of. But then I got used to it and actually prefer it now. The ice is just another accessory to piss around with and you can regulate the strength and coldness of your beer as well. Alex PS. Leo beer is the best:)

660ml, 6.4%, doesnt get much better. Drink as much as you can while still standing and if you think your going to have a hangover, keep one next to the bed to drink in the morning. Doesnt get a 10 as it isnt guinness. Who puts ice in their beer? Poooofs!!!!
