Copper Dragon Scots 1816 - Beer, Ale - Reviews & Comments
A bloody good ale from the Copper Dragon range, brewed by a very good friend of mine in Skipton. But, and this is a big but, the malty flavour comes from Thomas Forcetts best Marris Otter Malted Barley, and has nothing to do with Malt whisky. ( in any case, why would you waste good whiskey by putting it into a perfectly good pint of ale ?
P.S. You can't get it in Oz yet ! ( come on Steve T )
I'll second that. Had it when it came on as a guest ale in a bar in Leeds recently. Lovely stuff. Hint of maltiness to it (that'll be the whiskey) but a really nice hop flavour too. Could happily drink myself into a stupour on the stuff.
Brewed in Skipton. Apparently they use Malt Whiskey when they brew it. Really really good. Try it. They brew some others too (Dark Ale, Best Bitter, Golden Pippin...) all very good but this is the pick of the bunch.
