I'm doing a beer club thing at a local bar, you have to drink 109 different types of beer within a time frame, I was randomly looking through the list the other night and decided to order an Estrella Galicia because I thought the name was pretty, haha. It was awesome! Probably my new favorite beer.
I first tasted Estrella whilst I had a bar in Spain in 1996.
I immediately got this installed into my bar and it far exceeded the San Miguel which at that time was the main beer. I still drink this and find not much else comes up to this standard. We have only just got it here in New Zealand, and how great it is!!.
Just got back from holiday in Benidorm, went into bar and asked for etrella damm and waitress served me this Galicia, couldnt belive what i was tasting, went to bar and saw it was Galicia, ended up drinking it all holiday, it sure is the best tasting lager you can get as i am a normal bitter drinker. First class
I was in Galicia last summer, and totaly missed this beer. I agree that the regular Estrella Galicia is the best in Spain.
I just got back from Mexico, where I found the 1906 in a pub in San Miguel de Allende. Since I had been on a steady diet of Mexican beer, mostly Noche Bueno, Negro Modelo, and Modelo Especiale, I found the 1906 to be outstanding.
I have no idea how I missed the 1906 last summer.
i went to salou,in spain,last year and i was drinking estrella damm until i discovered estrella galicia .an excellent, thirst quenching,drink.even better the way they serve it:very cold in a long,tall glass !
I think that Estrella Galicia is a very good and tastefull beer, I think that the normal brown bottle is better than the 1906 limited edition beer.
I wiill have a lot of them the next year to celebrate his 100th birthday!
I had it in Miami at a Tapas place (Pimientos) and it's the best beer I have ever had.
This is really tasteful beer. Hard to find outside Galicia.
