Guinness - Beer, Ale - Reviews & Comments
The plastic thing that looks like ice is most probably a widget. It helps to maintain a good head on the pint by taking co2 from the beer and pushing it to the top of the can.
I think this beer is the best...we drink alot of beer here in newfoundland...and down on george street...the party strip of canada everyone loves this beer...Cheers
i also have a question! what is that plastic object in the bottle that looks like a piece of ice. i say that there is a piece of plastic in the bottle. my dad said there is nothing in the bottle. so what is in the bottle and what does it do..
By far the best out there. No other beer can ever compare to Guinness.
I luv the black stuff!
im irish it is the only draught that i like but have drank it all over europe and there is no contest in the quality of stuff at home im looking forword to working in the states this summer just to commpare it. but basicly you will not drink anything in your life like a pint of plain pulled right in a small county pub in ireland dont bother with the big bars in dublin their almost as bad as the rest of europe now
I have a question. Does the Guinness Beer come with some type of plastic in the bottle for any reason. A piece that does not come out of the bottle and if you never had the beer before, to look at it you would think it was ice!
This is bar-none the best beer I have ever had! Through years of bartending and working liquor stores and my personal experimentation, I've tried a lot of smelly, hoppy imports and nast watery US domestics. None deserve shelf space with this beer! I've been enjoying this for a decade now and it seems to get better every time! It may be an acquired taste, but if you like unique but pleasing tastes, it won't take but two! I wish to visit Ireland one day just for this beer! Always tasts best poured from a tap. The bottled and canned stuff is fine, but there is something better about it when its poured from the tap.
Guinness is for girls too! This is my favorite beer and drinking it in Ireland makes it taste even better.
If you see a gorgeous Irish girl, you can think that she's probably gorgeous caus of the Black Magic you drank!!!
HAVE FUN!!!
I like Cider...
Food of the Gods! When served cold by a landlord who knows how to look after his beers it truly cannot be bettered.
i think it's the best in the freakin world!! nothin can top it!! NOTHIN
If you like dark beers truly, you will like Guiness. Dark, stout, smooth, creamy, full bodied, not bitter. Tis the standard! I have loved this beer for 30 years now. Before US microbrews this was IT! And still is. I hope to go to dublin 2006 to have it at the Gate. I love beer. Bud sucks!!! Can you say LCD? That stands for least common denominator in math. In beer, it is a pilsner or lager that the mostus # of people will drink w/o complaining, ie, a compromise you will be tolerant of.
Make more of your life. Drink a REAL beer.
Guinness is F**king Beautiful went to Ireland 2 months ago and had it for first time ever. Nicest drink I have ever had would recommend it to everyone
Guiness is definately an aquired taste. But it`s a man`s beer.Girls will hate it.The best of the stouts.Try it and see for yourself. You`ll hate it too,at first.
Guinness is great. The best beer on the market and by the way Guinness is 100%, it was invented in Ireland and is still brewed in ireland. Diageo may not be irish but the drink certainly is
Guinness is great, when it's good. When you get a good pint it's a ten, but a bad pint is dire. I'll give it nine. :)
When Guinness is good, it's bloody great. The problem is, it's so damn unreliable. That's why there are only a handful of pubs I'll drink it in. Also, it's not Irish - Guinness are owned by Diageo. Also, for a better pint of stout, go to the Porter House for a pint of 'Plain'. It's 100% reliable and 100% Irish. Not to mention 100% pure - only got the basics in there likt water, hops, yeast.. no additives, flavourings, colourings etc. Still, if I'm in a new pub, I'll always give the Guinness a go.
How dare you give a guinness anything below a ten. It is by far the best liquid in all of ireland.
If in doubt, drink stout
The classic, and the best.
I have (six) vintage Guinness Beer posters (not reproductions) I bought from a family selling off grandfathers 'stuff'. Was rolled up in a tube at a garage sale. Seeking info and value on. One states 1939. Others no date. Avenue I would take?
GUINNESS is delivered with mixed gas of nitrogen and carbon dioxide which gives the characteristic smooth creamy head. Watch the glass fill with a swirling liquid that tumbles and surges eventually to separate into a black liquid and a white head - the two distinct parts of the perfect pint.
