Kingfisher (over half green though)

RATING > 1 - by ken welsch | Date > 2005-01-12
Honestly, tried this beer with about a dozen friends at a beer tasting party, and this was rated THE worst amongst over twenty beers. Literally had people spitting it out.

This is one of my favourite beers, it has a nice smooth taste and is extremely light,

Sexiest beer i have ever had!

RATING > 8 - by team_hell | Date > 2005-03-11
This was the best example of a Martime brew

I loved this beer when I was India but I haven't found it very tasty in the US. For best enjoyment you need to go to Bangalore and have a couple in the Purple Haze rock club with some spicy chicken!

i think its good but agree not as nice as in india brwed in new zealand now

RATING > 8 - by Brent Smith | Date > 2005-05-31
Kingfisher is a pretty solid beer and handles itself well with spicy food - all the more amazing considering how light it sits on the palate. Saved my life once in Aurangabad - honestly!

RATING > 10 - by Sunita Deshpande | Date > 2005-06-29
I am not a beer fan, I usually drink wine, but when I tried KingFisher I was convinced I was missing out! It's my favorite beer now, and compliments all food - especially spicy Indian food - gorgeously. They need to start carrying it in more bars here in the US.

RATING > 4 - by Steve Cole | Date > 2005-06-30
Too light and too weak for my tastes, I prefer a beer that I can actually taste. Good for getting drunk since it doesnt take up much room, but other than that I'll pass...

RATING > 9 - by Alain Rose | Date > 2005-07-17
One of the finest I have had

RATING > 10 - by rajiv hirani | Date > 2005-08-17
the first time i tasted it i got crazy it was the finest of all the drinks i had ever tried.

RATING > 7 - by JT | Date > 2005-08-22
Actually closer to 7.5. I enjoy it alot while traveling in India. It seems to not travel as well. The Kingfisher I got here in the US was pretty skunky. It is a nice, light and refreshing beer when consumed in India. I especially liked the catchphrase printed on the export cases; "most thrilling chilled!" yeah, i suppose i wouldn;t be too thrilled with it warm...

Its really smooth and goes down your palate. Can have upto 6 bottles w/o any hangover the next day

I love lager beer and have sampled lagers from around the world. In my view Indian made Kingfisher is the world's best. Trouble is the New Zealand brewed Kingfisher is inferior. I no longer drink it because I can no longer buy the real stuff.

This is definitely one of the best light beers. It has been winning awards at most beer fests. It is crisp, light with that mild hop flavour very refreshing especially on a hot Sunday afternoon. My friends and colleagues from the UK just buy packs of this stuff to take home. It's now available in the UK too.

Im forced to say I like it because I grew up on it. Its the only beer available on tap in Bangalore. But compared to other brands like Amstel, Labbats and Molson, it doesnt stand a chance. Its comparitively too rough and scratchy going down.

RATING > 10 - by shenbaum shlomo | Date > 2005-10-21
I just came from a jurney in india 4 the first time and i found the kingfisher beer as one of the best beer that i ever drunk all over the world.

Hi All, I give a 10 to the Kingfisher brewed and bottled in Goa/ Bangalore in India. But the Kiwi kind gets a 2 from me.I was ovwejoyed to see it available at the local Bottle shop but was sorely disapointed when I and a few friends tasted it.Yeah I spat it out.Still have 2 stubbies sitting on the mabntle piece. I wish we could get the real stuff out here in Oz. Cheers!!!

Best of all. Its goes down very well with any indian food and best part is the day its very hot in india and you sip kingfisher chilled the more easily it gets down fast and smoothly. Especially mumbai where humidity is problem and best part is goa where you need to get submerged in sea and kingfisher.... yes goa and kingfisher both rocks..... takecare and drink without hangovers

most common beer in India by far. I think it is drinkable, but only as a last resort. This is often the case in india...:(

Sorry guys, I come from Germany so I am pretty hard to cenvince of a beer not coming from my country (despites beer from Czech Republic - their beers rule 110%). Kingfisher is so easy to describe: TERRIBLE

RATING > 10 - by Fredrick | Date > 2006-03-01
Great beer unlike some dirty German beers which are tasteless and fake US brews with big advertisements but no fizz in the beers. I agree some eastern european beers are great. However, Germans are not known for food or drinks. Germans are known only for cold steel designs and concrete like feelings. Scary dumb lot... can't speak good English too...

Living in NZ I found some beers to be okay for a while but soon went off them. I tried kingfisher brewed in India and was most impressed excellent with food and great just having a quiet one in the evening. Trouble is it is now brewed in NZ and has lost its zing. Please can we have the imported variety back

Saw these in the liquor stores 2 weeks ago, and have been going back to grab a few bottles along with others. Quite the smooth beer. How this beer can be rated scratchy, is beyong me. Says it right on the bottle: Serve cool.
