Tyskie

RATING > 9 - by Jeroen Witteveen | Date > 2004-07-27
High in hops, slightly bitter. The closest to Czech beers I found in Poland (I consider Czech beers to be best).

Second best beer in Poland. Not as good as Zyweic but it definitely deserves to be sampled!

I found Tyskie to be the best beer in poland, and the poles agree with me. The world too, in 2002 it won the best beer of the world. The brewers of Tyskie are the biggest in poland and do the best. This beer is everything compared to zywiec. Go tyskie!

RATING > 10 - by tyskie | Date > 2005-05-08
Absolutnie the best!

Tyskie is in fact one of the best beers I've tasted here in Canada.... little better than Zywiec or Okocim Polish brands....however lately there seems to be a distribution problem at the LCBO (summer of 2005)... fix it up or you'll loose a great number of fans!

This is the best beer i have ever had. I went on a month long trip to poland last year and i sampled every beer I could and I found that this was the best beer. I was wondering if anyone has the recipe or knows where I could find it. I'd like to brew my own version of it for personal use to save some money. My email is med_pat19@hotmail.com.

I went to the off liscenses last night and was stuck for choice of beer or spirits. Since I like tasting new beers I seen one that I never tried before. It was called Tsykie. Its got a very similiar taste to Stella Artois but I could become a converted Tyskie very easily now.

This is one of the best beers in its class that I've ever had. Much like the best of the Czech beers, but quite frankly has a better hoppishness and a very clean finish. I would strongly recommend that you try it yourself. It's worth the effort to research where to get it. I got mine at Gary's Liquor in Oak Creek (Milwaukee).

Just discovered Tyskie for first time @ my local Threshers came on net to find out where it was from as never heard of it before not a bad drop have to say doesnt taste anywhere near the 5.6 % it says on bottle more like a 4.9 % . Have to still say though after quaffing export lager from around the globe for many a year now nothing comes close to Stella Artois especially the brewed in Belgium stuff, Tyskie is pretty good though !!

RATING > 9 - by Jon Body | Date > 2007-02-03
I was stuck for what beer to buy tonight in Bargain Booze, I usually have Stella, but I saw this at 5.6% and thought, this has gotta be good, only £1.28 a bottle in bargain booze, so I bought 6, absolutely lovely. Better than Stella. I think you can buy it at wetherspoons pubs now as well!

For the person enquiring if its available in Nottingham - Asda stores sell it, but not on the main beer aisle - many asda stores have a seperate aisle for polish foods :)

Just discovered tyskie, Having traveled around tasting beers as I go i have to say this is short on flavour prefer a belgium beer. Even San Miguel, not the one brewed in the uk, has more flavour. But it is starting to make itself felt. mmm!!
