| Without question the best beer I've ever known, but one problem - it's not available in Dubai, proving that Dubai is not yet perfect. |

| This beer sucks! Sorry. We get the promise of Reinheitsgebot & bla bla bla. But be honest. Does this beer deseve the ratings on this page. No.. would give it max. 4. Average that is all. This beer is lightstruck most of the time and the cheap shit hops used comes through on taste and aroma. |

| Windhoek agrees with me and I never get acid indigestion with it like SAB beers with their metallic and chemical taste. Windhoek is always consistently good taste and none of my friends I offer it do dislike it - many change over to it! The Light and Export are also very drinkable and I change from one to another for enjoyment. Where are the quart bottles of Windhoek!!! |

| NAM breweries please do not go the same route as the local South African beer giant has gone.
The quality in your beer seem to have dropped from hero to zero when compared to what it used to be.
All your beers used to have and keep a good head but that has also gone to the wind why? Keep your quality like the European beers not the African crap.
Please there are still cultured beer drinkers south of the Kunene and Okavango.

| Having drunk Windhoek Lager after so many years (from Bumbar bottle) and to see not any any promotion on our areas is disgracing to support such brand. Before i was drinking Windhoek Lager i was drinking Southern Comfort, which i still have a T-shirt of that to show how much i have supported it and how many promotion we had in our local taverns this makes us proud of them, but not with Windhoek Lager. I interested to be one of the sales representative for Windhoek Lager for our area (Ga-Rankuwa), what must be done?? |

| I went to the Sharks/Province game on 1st October to see the Sharks lose yet again. Have not been to Kings Park for years, What made the loss more bearable was the fantastic Winhoek Draft on sale from a temporary bar. It was delicious! I cannot stand the chemical rubbish that SAB call beer. All their beers taste the same and are too gassy.
Only complaint I have is that the Windhoek canned beer from bottle stores are also fizzy
. How about selling kegs to custumers, any chance of that? Peter. |

| Windhoek lager, as well as Windhoek Export, is the best beer on earth!! Can't fault it at all (I think Braumeister is probably one of these miserable people that find fault in absolutely everything). I can buy it in Australia from any one of the South African shops for the same price as a premium Aussie lager ($45), which I would rather do any day than drink the Aus rubbish!! The local stuff tastes like sugary watered down beer. |

| Think the draught in can is a great beer, don't like the lager in bottles!
Is there a differance betwen Lager, Export and Draught?
Am in Jo'burg at the moment, altho'I've been drinking Windhoek for many years, and find that the bottled Lager is not a patch on the canned draught!
Bottoms up! |

| The Reinheitsgebot was issued in 1516 as part of an attempt to protect the bakers of the time as the brewers were using a lot of wheat to make beer. You could view the Reinheitsgebot as a baker’s protection act. It also help the Bavarian authorities to regulate the brewing industry for more effective tax collection on beer. It has absolutely nothing to due with purity. This law is outdated as beer can also contain yeast if not filtered & at that time yeast was an unknown entity in the brewing process. Weisbier or wheat beer is very popular in Germany & one could argue that this beer is also not Reinheitsgebot as it contains wheat but to suggest it is not pure because of this is ridiculous.
Of the top 40 brands in the world 39 are lagers, the exception being Guiness that is an Ale & only one of these 39 top lager brands is produced according to the Rienheitsgebot i.e. Becks.
We add maize to all our brands except Sterling Light Lager & Pilsner Urquell, for very good reasons. Maize improves the drinkability of our beers which is much needed in a hot climate like South Africa. Maize helps with differentiation of our brands i.t.o. the brand intrinsics & as an added benefit helps with quality consistency & shelf life.
Other cereals that are used world wide by brewers, besides malt & maize include barley, wheat, rice, sorghum, rye & even oats.

| Windhoek is a superb beer, and in my opinion, the 2nd best in the word.
Furthermore, Charles, if you are going to plagiarise information from a a quick Google search, try to get the whole story. The purity laws cover many aspects, not just the one that you claim. What it prevents is the addition of chemicals to speed up the brewing process. The reason most mainstream beers do not conform is that they add these chemicals. A good friend of mine is a supplier of such chemicals to various breweries. These speed up the process to such an extent, that cheap (and terrible) beers such as most of the mainstream Australian beers (VB, XXXX) can be brewed in 2-3 hours. These manufacturers also add more sugar to their beers, which breaks down quicker than malt. This is why better quality beers taste more malty than their cheaper counterparts. This is also a reason why cheap beer makes you angry - it's the sugar rush and not the alcohol (same theory for Rums and Brandies). |
